Mary C. Matthews was a member of the United States (U.S.) Army Nurse Corps during WWII. 1st Lieutenant Mary C. Matthews joined the U.S. Army Nurse Corps in 1942 from Sugar Notch, Pennsylvania, and took basic training at Camp Kilmer. She served in North Africa, Corsica, and Italy.
